Birdwoods is Zimbabwe’s top producer of metal birds, and Mbare is proud to be the sole U.S. distributor of this elegant line. The range primarily consists of attractive renditions of Africa’s most popular bird life, which make fabulous outdoor sculptures and can also be used as interior decorative accents. Birdwoods was established in 1991 by Louise Stobart, who has since relocated to New Zealand where she now retails Birdwoods’ products. The artists, who continue to produce her designs in Zimbabwe, create the birds and other animals with great skill and care from used oil drums, resulting in a fascinating art form that is pleasing to the eye and environmentally-friendly.
