James Chidzenga

< Return to Artists

"I was given responsibilities as a youngster, such as helping in the fields and herding cattle," James says. A bit later, he began sculpting and his work started to attract attention. The idea of carving the human torso came to him over time, as he noticed that torsos have " so many interesting and varying shapes...and have a particular purpose in our lives." Jame's works also include abstract elephants and giraffe families.
