Currently based in Tafara, a high-density suburb of Harare, Chandi works primarily by himself with occasional help from his younger brother. The second eldest of six children, Chandi learned to carve from his older brother after their mother's death in 1981. Learning a craft and completing his secondary education has enabled Chandi to earn a living for himself through art.
